Southwick Fire Department EMS
Southwick Fire Department is the primary
ambulance emergency service for the town of Southwick. Southwick Fire Department
is a licensed Basic Life Support Ambulance Service. SFD has two BLS
ambulances. Each ambulance is equipped with oxygen, BLS medications, pulse
oximeter, blood glucometer, mark 1 kits, and semi automatic defibrillators.
If an event occurs that a patient needs Advanced Life Support Southwick Fire
calls Agawam or Westfield Fire Department for ALS Intercepts. Southwick Fire
can also request Life Star in the event of bad weather conditions or serious
accidents. Southwick Fire also covers
mutual aid for the Granville, Ma and surrounding communities. Currently
Southwick Fire Department has One full time EMT and 22 on call EMT’s.
Southwick Fire Department has one 24/7 staffed ambulance and one backup
ambulance that can be staffed in the event of more than one ambulance calls
or patients.
